Thomas McPoyle is the Technical Manager at LITE. He has over 15 years of experience in Information Technology Systems Management, Build Management, Systems Administration, Software Development, and Software Engineering Process Definition including Configuration Management and Change Management. He drives change through iterative process and he believes that coaching is an effective management style.
Prior to working at LITE, Thomas worked at Accenture (Gestalt, LLC) for
5 years. At Accenture as a Technical Architect, Thomas lead efforts in systems integration, build management, process definition, and software development. He led the implementation of build systems that provided automation of testing and integration harnesses. He provided organizational standards and definitions for the areas of systems integration, systems testing, building, and delivery. He also developed real-time simulation software which provided realistic gaming environments for military training, and he acted as liaison to the customer for delivery of several high-profile applications.
Prior to working at Accenture, Thomas worked at Towers Perrin for 10
years as a Lead Systems Developer. His role at Towers Perrin was as
diverse as his role at Accenture. He provided systems integration expertise to development staff while supporting the system administration team with insight to the delivered applications. His role as Lead Systems Development grew out of his familiarity of systems administration, database administration, and software configuration and change management.
Thomas has a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Computer and Information Science from Temple University, a Masters of Science Degree in Computer Science from the Pennsylvania State University, and a Masters of Science in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania.
He is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he was born and raised. In Lafayette, LA, he eats poboys, but his real hunger is for Geno's Cheesesteaks (American Wit), Scrapple, Tastykakes, and an Eagles Superbowl.
He is a Pennsylvania State and ProBoard Certified Fire Fighter Level II, Fire Officer I, Fire Instructor I, and an EMT. He was a fire instructor at the Montgomery Country Fire Academy. He has served as a fire officer with the rank of Captain for the Trappe Fire Company, No.
1, in Trappe, PA and he humbly and respectfully presided over that body as President of the organization.
Thomas is also trained for wildland firefighting, and he has served on the PA State Wildland Firefighting Crew for District 19, Evansburg State Forest. He has served the Commonwealth on several large wildland fires including the Bull Run fire where over 60,000 acres burned.
He hopes that the Virtual Reality environments at LITE can one day be adapted in the training of Emergency Service Personnel.
Thomas has a beautiful family consisting of his wife Kellie, son Tommy, daughters Meghan and Victoria, and their Whippets, Peaches and Einstein.
