A Louisiana native born in New Roads, Marsha has resided in Lafayette since May 1979. Prior to that time, she and her family lived in Dickson County, TN for seven years and in Atlanta, GA for five years. However, Marsha and her family regard Lafayette and Acadiana as “home” and love the city conveniences with small town feel of the area.
She has a son, daughter and son-in-law and two extremely beautiful, intelligent and talented grandchildren ages four and five. Also included in the family are her granddogs, Katie and Jake, two boxers who reside with their “father” in Lake Charles.
The executive assistant to LITE’s executive director and chief scientist, Marsha brings many years of experience to LITE. Most recently, she blessed the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce with her organizational talent and intellect.
Marsha earned a bachelor’s degree and a Paralegal Certificate from ULL (USL) and holds an associate’s degree from the Dickson Area Vocational School in Dickson, Tennessee.
Her interests are varied, and she loves to dress to the hilt and attend formal events or engage in casual outdoor pursuits such as camping, “digging in the dirt,” spending time on the water or attending festivals, music and art events. In her quiet time, she enjoys reading and movies, cooking and visiting with friends and family. Marsha enjoys meeting new people, especially those from other locales and cultures and, whenever possible, traveling to and exploring different places, near or far. These days, her favorite pastime is spending time with her grandchildren, who keep her (and everyone around them) very busy.
