In August, I was able to attend the ACM SIGGRAPH one of the biggest international conferences and exhibitions related to the computer graphics field. ACM SIGGRAPH stands for Association for Computing Machinery SpecialInterestGroup onComputer GRAPHics and Interactive Techniques. This was my 5thstraight year attending this amazing conference. I truly enjoy going to SIGGRAPH because it allows me to be part of a community of talented professionals from all sectors of the computer graphics world. Not only have I been able to view some truly stunning work and learn new techniques, but I have also been privileged to commune with peers. More and more I've come to realize the importance of community, that everyone needs it, regardless of profession or lifestyle. Good communities inspire us and rejuvenate us, reminding us why we do what we do. I have this experience every time I come back from SIGGRAPH.
So, for the next few posts, I will share my SIGGRAPH experiences with you cyber readers and hopefully encourage you to find a community that helps you to get your creative juices flowing. I will leave you with a few links (pasted below) to ACM SIGGRAPH, SIGGRAPH diaries, and SIGGRAPH 2011's YouTube channel.
